On the 5th November 1988, 20 years ago, 19 year old

Trent Whitehouse was tragically killed; he was a victim

of knife crime.

A loving son, brother and a loyal friend, Trent has been

missed for many years but never forgotten .

Every right minded person knows that those who raise

a knife in anger, risk taking away another person's life

and consequently cause relatives and friends of the

victim the most horrendous pain and emotional turmoil.

Whilst we wait for our politicians and judiciary to work

out how to untangle the human rights web in favour of

law abiding citizens and decide how to educate, or

appropriatley punish those who carry knives,

communities must take responsibility for their own children.

As such, it is hoped that a strong message will come out of

this unique reunion. A message that must be taught to all of

our children and theirs....the message quite simply is that it is

unacceptable to carry knives....And it goes deeper than that.....

the reality is that knives kill and shatter the lives of many

people.

So next time you're feeling a bit down remember that Trent

only had 19 years... He didn't deserve to have his life taken

away......But what life he did have, Trent enjoyed....

A Philosphy we should all aspire towards.

And talking about enjoyment..........this Gala reunion will be

like Trent himself..................
