THE MANAGER

Trentonians Football Club was formed in 1988 following Trent's death.
Since his untimely death, the team has taken a journey from the lower leagues to reach their highest
position in the Reading and District Sunday League (Premier Division) during the 1998 season. They are
currently in Division 1 East and are now approaching 20 years in the league.
The roots of this club go back to the earley 80's. Starting in 1983, as an U14's team 'Trents' were known
as Highdown Boys FC. We had many coaches and managers over the years including Reg and the infamous
Mr 2V senior.
Reg Singleton (an ex pro goalkeeper) took the boys under his wing and it has to be said took more than his
fair share of grief from 13 hormone fuelled teenagers......Highdown boys folded in 1986.
Trentonians was started by Darren Barrett, Steven Goswell and Adrian Jackson as a way of keeping Trent's
name alive. They drove around to the homes of all of the ex Highdown players and the team was born.
Lots of players have come and gone, however, Deano Jones, Giddy and Graeme Corker have remained
with the team ever since. Deano is now the club manager.... the rest as they say is history.
